Environment

There is the natural and human environment and the interaction between them. Changes in both can be positive or negative in their effects on our lives.

Alarming trends, such as climate change, can portend disaster for the natural state and human society in the not too distant future. On the other hand, human development policy can lead us toward a society in a mutually beneficial relationship with nature.

We have the means to change the ways we do things. There are ways to develop our economies, increase agriculture efficiency and improve human society without destroying the beautiful or construct barriers to the better. We can preserve or create wonderful human or natural entities on our planet.  We can stop clear cutting and eroding this world upon which we live. We have the ability to improve, not just preserve, the natural and urban environment. Trends are not written in stone.

Given 200 years time, it is entirely possible that changes in policies and actions taken can result in positive outcomes. Trends can be altered or even reversed. Human beings have the ability to change the environment in a manner beneficial to all.
